Are You Ready, San Francisco?

September 2010

Architect Community Newsletter

Are You Ready, San Francisco?

In a matter of days the city of San Francisco will be invaded by hordes of IT professionals — architects among them — as they check into hotels, stow their baggage, and begin to make their way to the various venues hosting sessions and other events as part of JavaOne, Oracle Develop, and Oracle OpenWorld.

This edition of Oracle's Architect Community Newsletter brings you some last-minute information on some of the activities for architects happening across the three events.

If San Francisco is not in your plans for the week of 9/19, you can still follow the action via daily Oracle Technology Network Live webcasts, and through Twitter, Facebook, and blog updates from the OTN team and across the architect community. We've got you covered.

Focus

It Really is a Big Tent!

If you attended previous Oracle Develop or OpenWorld events you probably spent some time in the OTN Lounge, grabbing a coffee in the morning, a beer in the afternoon, collecting the latest in t-shirt and software swag, and catching up with friends and colleagues. Well, as you may have noticed, things have changed. This year the OTN Lounge has moved from its old digs on the third floor of Moscone West to the Mason Street Tent, between the Hilton and Nikko hotels. To be more precise, the OTN Lounge hasn't moved to the Mason Street Tent, it has become the Mason Street Tent. Occupying the entire block from Ellis to O'Farrell, the Mason Street Tent is the new home for all the swag and activities you used to find in the OTN Lounge, and much, much more. Learn more

Unconference sessions are community-driven in the truest sense. The Unconference is a venue for any JavaOne or Oracle Develop 2010 attendees to present their own session or workshop on any topic they're passionate about, in an informal, interactive setting. It's a great opportunity for attendees to learn what's on the minds of their peers in the community. The roster for this year includes several sessions by members of the OTN architect community. Add these sessions to your schedule - or share your expertise in your own session. Learn more
